Description
Using the up-to-date releases of Plone and LinguaPlone, the content-driven translation of basic UI elements like "home", "contact" etc. does not work.
Default (starting) language in my setting is German (simple language code).
Target language is en-us, with "allow combined language codes like de_DE or en_UK" enabled in the ZMI and also selected as allowed languages in the Plone language setting configuration.
Using simple language codes only and disabling the above ZMI option, the bug goes away.

This bug seems to be fixed in the newest version of plone. We were using this buildout and use case described above.
