Ticket #10507 (closed Bug: fixed)
Issues with the Mac installer's README.txt
|Reported by:||xMartin||Owned by:||smcmahon|
For the Plone 3.3 installer labeled "OS X installer for Intel/PPC (10.4,10.5)" there are several issues with the README.txt, that pops up after the installation is done:
- When you're using the installer probably all you want is get going quickly. Why should I check buildout.cfg first and maybe get confused? We talk about customiaztion at the bottom of the text anyway. Let me run Plone first! I want to see the success. Adjust later.
- The text says I have to "run /Applications/Plone/zinstance/bin/buildout" after adjusting buildout.cfg but that doesn't work. Should be: "In a terminal window do:
cd /Applications/Plone/zinstance bin/buildout
- In Production Mode Install running /Applications/Plone/zeocluster/bin/buildout
needs sudo permissions which is not mentioned in the text (but everywhere else it says sudo).
- The text mentions the file /Applications/Plone/zinstance/adminPassword.txt but that doesn't exist. I guess this is obsolete and should be removed completely or refering to buildout.cfg.
